CCAT Awards Contract to RemoteReality

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., April 1, 2010 - RemoteReality announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT).   Under this contract RemoteReality will work with CCAT and manufacturers of robot platforms to provide 360° visual awareness for the operators of small robots.

The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT), located in San Diego, CA, is a unique partnership of academia, industry, and government working collaboratively to "fast track" enabling technologies addressing priority Department of Defense and homeland defense needs from the research laboratory to the military, 1st Responder, and commercial marketplace.

“Our camera systems provide 360° “eyes” for robot operators, informing them in real time about all activity in the their area” says Admiral (Ret.) Denny McGinn, the company’s CEO. “With unmanned vehicles playing a larger and larger role in defense operations, improved operator awareness will be key to mission success.”

RemoteReality’s wide area camera systems have been used in a variety of defense and homeland security applications, including on submarine periscopes, surface ships and both manned and unmanned ground vehicles.

About RemoteReality Corporation

RemoteReality designs ultra wide area camera systems that dramatically improve situational awareness in military and homeland security applications. Our products deliver real-time wide-area visual information to users, improving their awareness and decision making, while reducing system cost and complexity compared to traditional video technologies.  Our omni-directional camera technology spans both visual and thermal infrared (LWIR and MWIR) spectra, enabling us to provide solutions with continuous 360-degree coverage during both day and night.  For security applications our intelligent object tracking software automates the analysis of the video, issuing alarms and automatically controlling a slaved device (pan-tilt-zoom camera or weapons system) to follow potential threats.
